I am a physical oceanographer currently working at the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, Istituto di Scienze Marine, S.S. di Lerici (SP), Italy. My interests are in the physical processes and in the coherent structures affecting transport processes, dispersion, mixing and exchanges in coastal and subarctic areas. I am also the Italian national representative of the Joint European Research Infrastructure for Coastal Observatories (JERICO)

I obtained my Ph.D. in Meteorology and Physical Oceanography at the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, University of Miami, Miami, Florida, USA
