Overview

I am a physical oceanographer currently working at the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, Istituto di Scienze Marine, S.S. di La Spezia/Lerici, Italy. My interests are in the physical processes and in the coherent structures affecting transport processes, dispersion, mixing and exchanges in coastal and subarctic areas, using above all high-resolution numerical circulation models, gliders and radar observations. I am also the Italian National Focal Point of the Global Ocean Observing System (GOOS), chair of the EuroGOOS Task Team dedicated to Fixed Platforms and Italian national representative of the Joint European Research Infrastructure for Coastal Observatories (JERICO) research infrastructure. I am also a member of the DG-MARE Expert Group on Ocean Observation appointed by the Italian Ministry of University and Research

"...un nodo per ogni affogato..." [a knot for each drowned man] is a verse of a wonderful yet not published song "L'esca", written by my best friend Enrico Cibelli and his group Ratafiamm. The song is copyrighted and its verses cannot be reproduced elsewhere without the explicit artists' written permission
