Good! Our lab is located in a fantastic place, you can have a look at it via our live webcam on the roof at the link http://webcam.sp.ismar.cnr.it/slideshow.htm Here are some tips to guide you through the application processes: 1) READ THE CALL: try to read carefully the call but do not get too scared about the bureaucratic language 2) VIDEOCONF INTERVIEW: just recently (see Art.7) CNR introduced the possibility of having the interview via video-conferencing systems. This is important because you are not obliged to fly over unless you really want to visit this beautiful place ;) 3) RECOGNITION of ACADEMIC TITLES TAKEN ABROAD: True, Art.3 states that "All academic titles obtained abroad [...] shall be previously recognized in Italy in accordance with current legislation". But you should be aware that you do NOT need any formal recognition by MIUR for your titles. Art.3 does also say that "The equivalence of those titles obtained abroad who have not already been recognized in Italy with the above expected formal procedure, will be evaluated, only for the present selection procedure, by the Examining Committee constituted according to Article 6, Comma 1 of the Regulations." This basically means that there will be a University Professor in the Examining Committee which will evaluate your academic titles and declare them equivalent to the ones needed only for the purpose of this application. This saves time and avoids recognitions by MIUR. Of course you need to provide copies of your original titles and their English translations to make the equivalence possible. 4) ANNEX A: For the application, you need to fill a document similar to Annex A, (selection code is AS 5/2014 SP), dated and signed it. You may scan it and send it with the other documents via email. I said "similar" because for example if you do not have a PhD you do not need to fill that field, etc... But please stick to Annex A for as much as you can. You can download DOC formats of Annex A (and B) at the links in English --> http://magaldi.sp.ismar.cnr.it/bandi/AS052014SP/AnnexAandB_EN.doc in Italian --> http://magaldi.sp.ismar.cnr.it/bandi/AS052014SP/AnnexAandB_IT.doc 5) Curriculum Vitae and ANNEX B: For the application it is important that you turn in a "self-certified CV". To create a self-certified CV, I would proceed as follows: 5a) Start from your current CV in the present form, with photo, header, etc... As you like but I'd suggest you to put everything, I mean everything, as much as you can show. Also make sure that you CV is edited in an analytical way and all items in the CV are correctly identified with single reference elements (example: date, protocol, title of the publication, etc...) If your current CV already includes everything and you feel ok with it, you just need to follow the easy modifications below to have a self-certified CV; 5b) At the beginning of the CV just copy and paste the first part (self-certification header) of Annex B, that is the following part %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% DICHIARAZIONE SOSTITUTIVA DI CERTIFICAZIONE (SELF-CERTIFICATION) (Article 46 of DPR 445/2000) DICHIARAZIONE SOSTITUTIVA DELL’ATTO DI NOTORIETÀ (SELF-CERTIFICATION) (Article 47 of DPR 445/2000) The undersigned SURNAME________________________________________________________________ (for women unmarried surname) NAME____________________________________________________________________ BORN IN___________________________________________ PROVINCE_________________ ON (dd/mm/yyyy) ____/____/_________ RESIDENT IN______________________________________ PROVINCE_________________ ADDRESS________________________________________________________________________ ZIP CODE_______________ TELEPHONE________________________________________ CONSIDERING the DPR December 28, 2000, n. 445 on "Consolidated laws and regulations on administrative documentation" and subsequent amendments; CONSIDERING the Law 12 November 2011, n. 183, and in particular Article 15 which concerns new regulations for certificates and self-certifications(*); BEING AWARE that, according to Article 76 of the DPR 445/2000, false declarations, falsity in public documents and use of false documents are punished according to the Penal Code and to the current special laws on the subject, declares under her/his own responsibility: That what is declared in the following Curriculum Vitae et studiorum, including information on the scientific production, corresponds to the truth %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% You can download DOC formats of Annex B (and A) at the links in English --> http://magaldi.sp.ismar.cnr.it/bandi/AS052014SP/AnnexAandB_EN.doc in Italian --> http://magaldi.sp.ismar.cnr.it/bandi/AS052014SP/AnnexAandB_IT.doc 5c) after this part just insert your CV, modified as in point a) above 5d) make sure to date and sign ALL THE PAGES of the new document (self-certification header + CV) 5e) scan the dated and signed self-certified CV and send it with the other documents. 5f) make sure to send a PDF copy of a valid identification document (generally passport in most cases) with the other documents, otherwise the self-certification is not valid. 6) DOCUMENTS TO BE SENT: Summarizing, you want to make sure to send pdf copies of 6a) application form similar to Annex A (scanned version as it should be dated and signed at the end) 6b) self-certified CV similar to Annex B as explained in point 5 above (scanned version as it should be dated and signed ON EACH PAGE) 6c) a copy of your valid passport 6d) both English and orginal copies of your academic titles (PhD, Master Degrees, etc...) 6e) a list containing all your scientific works (papers, book chapters, technical reports, etc...) 6f) copies of all scientific works 6g) I'd suggest to not exceed 10MB with the attachments and to send multiple emails, just put in the email object "YourSurname, Application for AS 5/2014 SP, part I", "..., part II", etc... You are ready to go! Best of luck or "in bocca al lupo"!
